"A Man Among Men"

In northern New Mexico there lives a man

whose wisdom is revered throughout the land.

Not Native American, Hispanic, or Jew

but a Texan it's rumored - a legend that's true.

With his wife 'Sparkles Plenty' he came there to live

with high hopes and spirit and so much to give.

A restaurant they ran by the name of Dona Luz.

Good food and libation made it the best one to choose.

To add to its charm as owners they were

hospitable and warm; their company preferred.

The years and his wife had soon passed away

but to everyone's delight the gentleman stayed.

He absorbed all around him; so great stories he told

of the land and the locals - more priceless than gold.

All that he owned with others he shared.

It goes without saying the gentleman cared.

Both friends and neighbors; yes, all that he knew

not only did love him, but on his wisdom they drew.

Sage, savant and satyr it is said without whim.

No question about it, he's a man among men.
