There's a tale to be told
of a land faraway
and a woman who loved
a man gone astray.
Risking all that she had
and all that she owned
for a man who had yet
for his crimes to atone.
With guile he deceived her
to think she was loved.
Speaking words of endearment
- the language of doves.
She was sent to prosecute him
and put him away,
but his charms did entice her
and soon she did sway.
A gun she did bring him
to escape and be free.
His tainted hear hidden
- the woman could not see.
Years to herself
she had spent all alone
and now behind bars
she lies silent and prone.
Yet, in faraway Russia
her heart still swoons and swells
for the man who forsook her
and left her to jail.
