About The Artist

Gayle Montgomery is a mixed media artist working in assemblage, sculptured books, and collage.
Gayle’s ‘Safari Series’ was featured in National Geographic On Assignment in 2003 honoring the late Dan Eldon. This film won first place in the New York Indie Film Festival in 2004 in the category of “Best Broadcast Documentary”. Also in 2004 she headed the Taos, New Mexico 50th anniversary celebration of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo’s death. For this celebration, she created her ‘Frida Series’.
She has exhibited in the St. Louis Art Museum, The Greeting Gallery, the American Visions Gallery, and the late Art Attack Gallery all in St. Louis, Missouri. In Taos, New Mexico she has exhibited in the late Art Divas Gallery and New Grounds Gallery, Two Graces Gallery, Pasos Al Tiempo Studio and First State Bank.
Her artwork is found in collections across our own Nation and in Canada and England.
Currently she is expanding her ‘Irreverent Book Series’ and researching material for a collaged series based on lucid dream travel.
